Job Overview


Axiado is a San José, California-based company that is reshaping the future of cybersecurity for the world. As an Agile Project Manager for Axiado, reporting to the VP of Products, you will be responsible for project and process management; product owner support; and team management and building in accordance with company goals. You should have prior knowledge and experience with product development using Agile and traditional project management practices. In this role, you will lead Axiado’s hardware and software development projects, ensuring all objectives, goals and commitments are met.

Key Responsibilities


Project and Process Management

  • For assigned projects: define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular, timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning.
  • Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement Agile Project Management best practices.

Product Owner Support

  • Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables and stakeholder communications.
  • Help implement an effective system of project governance.

Team Management and Building

  • Assist engineering leads in team development and leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for project work.
  • Promote team empowerment, ensuring that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, while encouraging a sustainable pace with a high level of team quality.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS


  • 2+ years as a Project Manager overseeing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams of at least 10-15 team members, including developers, designers, and QA personnel;
  • Solid understanding of hardware and software development lifecycle models;
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing enterprise-level hardware, software or web development projects using Scrum/Agile methodologies;
  • The ability to combine Agile and traditional project management principles and practices to fit project and business environments appropriately;
  • Proven ability to lead hardware/software development projects ensuring objectives, goals, and commitments are met;
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to focus on details;
  • Expert interpersonal skills including effective collaborating, team building, and oral and written communication;
  • Solid understanding and demonstrated experience using appropriate tools:
    • Agile Project Management systems such as Jira, Redmine or equivalent
    • Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Visio, and all Microsoft Office programs; and
  • BA or BS degree or equivalent experience is mandatory;
